2026 SHF x NJCIC Fall Internships for New Jersey Students

The Scripps Howard Fund and the New Jersey Civic Information Consortium are partnering to provide New Jersey's students with journalism experience by working at nonprofit newsrooms that serve New Jersey communities.
The Jersey Vindicator, CivicStory and Follow South Jersey will each provide different learning and reporting opportunities. You can read each outlet's job description in the application below.
The internships are expected to be full-time (at least 30 hours per week) for 10 weeks and must occur between August 1 and December 31, 2026. Each internship pays a minimum of $20 per hour.
These internships are open to students (undergraduate and graduate) who attend college in New Jersey. Students graduating from a New Jersey university in the 2025-26 school year are also eligible to apply.
